Demographics and Psychographics

1) Media companies use different categories and associate different types of people to a certain category. They use categories like age, gender , education, social class, race , job and home.

2) Media companies and advertisers increasing use more audience profiling because they are trying to sell a brand or lifestyle so they need to know more than just demographics. They need to know what kind of personal interest their audience has and enjoys.

3)My personal psychographic group would consist of something that is affordable as I personally don't make any money myself. I'm mostly attracted to trendy products that are advertised through social media as I spend a lot of time on there and am easily influenced by social media.
