First 10 Questions

 

1) Which part of the course are you looking forward to most?

 I am most looking forward to the coarse work and the CPS.

2) What knowledge and skills do you hope to learn in Media?

I want to learn how to edit and create videos. 

3) What grade are you realistically hoping to achieve in Media (5-9)?

I am hoping for a grade 7-8. .

4) What was the last TV programme or film you watched?

I recently re watched Avengers:Endgame for the 5th time. 

5) Why do you think that TV programme or film appealed to an audience? Why would an audience like it?

I think the animations and the story line captivates the audience. 

6) What technology have you used to access the media in the last 24 hours? (Radio, TV, phone etc.)

I used my phone before I left for school.

7) What device do you use most to access the media?

I frequently use my phone to access the media. 

8) Watch this clip from acclaimed BBC drama series Doctor Who:
9) Why was the casting of Jodie Whittaker a significant moment in the history of Doctor Who?
This was a significant moment as she was the 13th doctor and the first even female doctor.

10) What aspects of this scene do you think an audience might enjoy? List at least three things and explain why the audience would enjoy each aspect. 
I think the audience would enjoy :
  • The lab was breaking apart once Doctor Who had transformed - this would be captivating for the audience as the scene was dramatic and intense.
  • When Doctor Who turned into a women - this would shock the audience especially because they wouldn't have expected this outcome.
  • Old Doctor Who was walking around the lab - this wouldn't made the audience sit on the edge of there seat as they don't know what to expect
Extension question: What can you spot in Doctor Who that you will find in most television dramas? (E.g. characters, dramatic music etc.) These are called key conventions - list as many as you can think of. 
  • Long waits before a dramatic climax
  • Dramatic music

Extension question 2: What would a Doctor Who fan ('Whovian') particularly enjoy about this scene? 

They would enjoy this scene particularly as they had wanted and longed for a Doctor Who character who wasn't a white male and they had finally seen a women version of Doctor Who.
